It has been a good few days for the Lammerskraal Stud based Visionaire. Not only is the former G1 King’s Bishop Stakes winner responsible for Friday’s Listed Racing Association Stakes winner Norton Sound, but Visionaire filly Red Boulevard provided her sire with Australian success when she won at Muswellbrook on Sunday.

Bred by Lammerskraal Stud, the three-year-old Red Boulevard powered home, under Ashley Morgan to break her maiden by a length, while scoring over 1500m.

The Paul Messara trained filly had previously finished fourth in her only two other races over 900m and 1250m  – Red Boulevard having shown promising form earlier in two trials.

A sister in blood to the Visionaire sired Equus Champion 2YO Colt Good Traveller (who finished unplaced at Kenilworth on Saturday), Red Boulevard was knocked down to Ric Wylie for R600 000 at the 2020 CTS Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

Her dam Strawberry Lane (granddam of the aforementioned Good Traveller) is a winning own sister to G3 Pretty Polly Stakes queen and high-class producer Jalberry.

The Jallad sired Strawberry Lane has been even more successful at stud than her own sister – and was South Africa’s Broodmare Of The Year 2018-2018, thanks to the deeds of her G1 winning offspring Solo Traveller (Cape Guineas) and Redberry Lane (Garden Province Stakes).
