SA MARE'S STAR DAUGHTER GOES ON SALE

Talented racemare Oleksandra, whose dam is the South African G2 winner Alexandra Rose, is set to go under the hammer at Keeneland this Wednesday.

Consigned to the sale by Bluewater Sales, as Agent, Oleksandra (Hip187) has plenty of appeal for commercial breeders.

Not only did the Australian bred Oleksandra (Animal Kingdom -Alexandra Rose) win eight times including the G1 Jaipur Stakes, she sells in foal to top US sire Into Mischief.

The latter, whose son Life Is Good ran out a brilliant winner of Saturday’s G1 Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile, is on course to be North America’s Leading Sire a third year running in 2021.

A son of Harlan’s Holiday, Into Mischief has had another tremendous year in 2021, with his offspring banking over $21.827 million in stakes, and including 26 individual stakes winners.

Oleksandra, who also captured the 2019 G3 Buffalo Trace Franklin County Stakes and 2021 G3 Poker Stakes, earned over $700 000 in stakes.

She is out of the Caesour sired, and Varsfontein Stud bred, G2 Golden Slipper winner Alexandra Rose – who was victorious in North America’s G3 Monrovia Handicap. A full-sister to Listed Syringa Handicap winner Aleax, Alexandra Rose is one of six black-type horses produced by the Darshaan mare Alexandra Bi.
