RAFEEF FILLY MAKES IT TWO OUT OF TWO

Ridgemont Highlands’ prominent young stallion Rafeef looks to have come up with yet another smart, first-crop prospect in the form of Moonshiningthrough.

The latter made it two wins from two starts when winning a good race at Turffontein on Thursday.

Trained by Johan Janse Van Vuuren, three-year-old Moonshiningthrough had won her only other start when making a winning debut over 1160m at Turffontein in August and was well supported to maintain her unbeaten record in Thursday’s Tellytrack.com Novice Plate (1200m).

Always up with the pace, the Raymond Danielson partnered filly kept finding in the closing stages to score by half a length, with the Ridgemont Highlands bred Team Gold taking second spot, and Captain Lannister another three-parts of a length away in third.

Bred by the Narrow Creek Stud, Moonshiningthrough was produced by the Tiger Ridge mare Sunset Ridge.

Fresh off supplying a double at Hollywoodbets Greyville last Sunday, the very much inform Rafeef is currently the Leading Second Season Sire in South Africa for 2021-2022.

His legendary sire Redoute’s Choice is also responsible for outstanding sire Snitzel -sire of impressive recent G1 winners In The Congo, Wild Ruler and Yearning.

Rafeef has three lots on offer at the upcoming November Two Year Old Sale.
