The Hermanus based Hemel ‘N Aarde Stud will be bringing a smart consignment to the 2021 CTS Ready To Run Sale.

This draft is made up of two-year-olds sired by all of Canford Cliffs, Master Of My Fate, Pomodoro and Wylie Hall, with Hemel ‘N Aarde’s lots all hailing from high-class female lines.

Lot 74: Unnamed, colt Wylie Hall x Danish Zealot

Closely inbred to legendary sire Danehill, this colt is a son of Redoute’s Choice’s dual G1 winning son Wylie Hall.

A half-brother to top Hong Kong sprinter Absolute Champion, Wylie Hall has left behind a number of smart performers including the graded stakes winners Twilight Moon and Wylie Wench.

His son on offer is out of the four time winning mare Danish Zealot, a three-parts sister to the G1 WATC Derby winner Cat’s Fun (the latter sired by Danehill’s son Catbird).

Lot 77: Unnamed, colt Pomodoro x Diva

This colt is a son of versatile G1 Vodacom Durban July winner Pomodoro, whose progeny include Equus Champion Return Flight and G1 Cape Racing Presents The Cape Guineas winner Russian Rock.

The colt on sale is out of the stakes placed, six time winning Diva -whose five winners include triple graded stakes winner Depardieu and the stakes placed Matinee Idol.

Diva herself is a half-sister to four time G1 winner Winter Solstice -South Africa’s Horse Of The Year in 2005.

Lot 98: Unnamed, filly Canford Cliffs x Mulamasa

This filly hails from the first South African crop of star miler and five time G1 winner Canford Cliffs.

The latter has already sired more than 40 black type horses, with his daughters including such group/graded stakes winners as Jin Jin, Al Jazi, Most Beautiful, Princess Posh, La Falaise and Fish River.

This filly is out of the Medicean mare Mulamasa, a 3/4 sister to G3 UAE 1000 Thousand Guineas third Tamazug and half-sister to Dubai G3 winner Zamaam.

Mulamasa, in turn, is out of Listed Fillies Trial winner Nasheed, a 3/4 sister to brilliant G1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe/G1 Juddmonte International winner Sakhee, and this is also the family of US champion sire Broad Brush.

Lot 99: Unnamed, colt Master Of My Fate x National Emergency

This colt was sired by one of the rising stars of the South African stallion band in the form of Master Of My Fate.

The latter has already made his mark as the sire of G1 winners Sentbydestiny, Zarina and champion Tempting Fate as well as this season’s Listed #womeinracing Sophomore Sprint winner Zapatillas.

A full-brother to the useful Captain Demonami, this colt is out of a winning sister to Listed Umzimkhulu Stakes (now a G3 race) winner Dream Come True, while his G3 placed granddam is a full-sister to top-class sprinter miler, and G1 sire, Goldmark.

His third dam, Pillow Talk, was South Africa’s Broodmare Of The Year in 1989.

Lot 101: Unnamed, colt Pomodoro x Pepperdine

By the sire of champion Return Flight, R5 million plus earner Cirillo and Guineas hero Russian Rock, this colt is out of a Trippi half-sister to four black type horses including G3 Umkhomazi Stakes winner Captain In Command, and Ladies Mile queen Canadian Sunset.

His granddam is the smart racemare Encircle -whose five wins included a triumph in the Tibouchina Stakes.

His broodmare sire Trippi is fast becoming an outstanding broodmare sire, with Trippi already damsire of a pair of exciting young stallions in Liam’s Map and Not This Time, as well as the likes of Miss Florida, Sheela, and champion Gabor.
