he Rosemont Stud bred champion Alboran Sea looks to have produced an Eastern Cape hero in the form of Marmara Sea.
The latter, a 4yo gelded son of Soft Falling Rain, made it six wins from six starts on the East Cape polytrack surface when he romped home at Fairview racecourse on Monday afternoon.
Trained by Alan Greeff, Marmara Sea justified 6-10 tote favouritism with a fluent display in Monday’s Play Soccer 6, 10 and 13 MR 90 Handicap (1400m).

Jockey Greg Cheyne bought his Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein bred gelding with a strong finish down the outside and the pair pulled clear to score by three and a quarter lengths with the minimum of fuss.
Now unbeaten in six starts in the Eastern Cape, the polytrack loving Marmara Sea looks unlikely to stop here.
Marmara Sea is the first runner for his Equus Champion dam Alboran Sea, a daughter of Rock Of Gibraltar.
The latter won five of her ten starts, with Alboran Sea (above) claiming all of the G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship, G1 Cape Flying Championship and G1 Computaform Sprint during her brief career.
South Africa’s Champion 3YO Filly of 2014-2015, Alboran Sea ended her career when runner up, to champion Carry On Alice, in the 2015 G1 South African Fillies Sprint.
